As of July 1st AHPRA will be making changes to its English language standards. As part of these changes, additional English language courses will be accepted.

Under the new standards you will be able to meet the English Language Requirement by sitting one of the following tests and achieving the required scores:
  • IELTS

  • OET

  • PTE (new)

  • TEOFL iBT (new)

You will no longer be required to achieve the scores in one sitting. You can demonstrate your English language ability by submitting two tests within a six-month period. Those two tests should equal the required band score in each of the four components. For example:

Test One:

S:7.0 L:7.5 W: 6.5 R 6.5

Test Two:

S: 6.5 L: 7.0 W:7.5 R: 7.5

This would be accepted, as you have shown that you meet the English requirement in all 4 bands. Please note that no band score in either test can be below 6.5. For more information please visit the AHPRA website. If you are planning on sitting one of the tests for AHPRA MCIE can offer you training.
