Congratulations, graduating class of 2014!

It was a privilege celebrating the success of our students on Wednesday the 3rd of December; with more than 20 students receiving their certificates in front of proud family and friends. The ceremony started right on time at 2.30 with many students arriving well before then to settle in, grab a seat and show off the campus to their loved ones. Ceremony host Bryony Dade welcomed the guests before passing the stage on to MCIE Managing Director Gary Coonar who spoke about his pride at seeing the accomplishments of the students. Representatives from each of MCIE’s training departments in Hospitality, Early Childhood Education, Aged Care & Disability, and Work Education were given the opportunity to talk about their students achievements for the year, as well as plans for the new year.

The ceremony then moved on to the highlight of the day which was to recognise the hard work and achievements of the students. Three Hospitality and Commercial Cookery students, Lucia Yu, Wen Ma and Thi To Lan Nguyen were acknowledged with certificates of appreciation for their assistance as they volunteered their time at a fund raising cooking event hosted by MCIE. After that, students from each discipline came up to receive their certificates from Gary; cheered on by their family, friends and trainers who had supported them throughout their studies. After the ceremony, guests adjourned to the dining area to catch up with each other as well as share in the afternoon tea provided.
The ceremony was a great opportunity for students to come back to MCIE and complete their educational journey with a celebration. For distance and off campus students, it afforded the chance to view the MCIE campus and catch up again with trainers. For MCIE staff, it was the best opportunity to welcome back students and mark the culmination of hard work with a special , joyous ceremony.
Thanks to all who attended. MCIE looks forward to hosting more graduation ceremonies in 2015 in celebration of our best and brightest students. To see all of the pictures, head to our Facebook page.
