Free Vehicle Registration for apprentices in Victoria

Student apprentices in Victoria have the opportunity to receive a 100% discount on their vehicle registration fees, potentially saving them up to $865 per year.

This initiative is designed to ease financial pressures on apprentices who rely on their vehicles for work-related purposes, allowing them to focus on their training and career development.

To qualify, apprentices must hold a current Victorian driver’s licence (not a learner’s permit) and use their vehicle for work purposes or for commuting to and from work between 8:30 pm and 5:30 am.

To apply for the discount, apprentices must submit their application through VicRoads upon receiving their registration notice. Employers will also need to verify that the apprentice is actively using their vehicle for work-related purposes.

Additionally, applicants must provide their VRQA registration number, which can be obtained through their Apprentice Connect Australia Provider.

Eligible apprentices are encouraged to check their eligibility and take advantage of this offer to help reduce financial stress while completing their training.

For more information on eligibility and application details, apprentices are encouraged to check the official VicRoads website.
